The ion that is being researched from contaminated water is Barium (Ba 2+).

What is Barium?

Barium is a soft silvery metal and it is the 56th element on the periodic table. It can dissolve in most fluids (except for sulfuric acid). Its name came from the Greek word “barys” which means heavy.
